Robert Glenn Fisher, 89, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at his home in Lexington. Bob was born June 6, 1927, in Sumner, Nebraska, to Charles Sylvester and Verna M. (Wiles) Fisher. He attended Sumner Public Schools. He was united in marriage to Sharon Greenlee on March 7, 1951, in Lexington, Nebraska. Three children were blessed to this marriage; Barbara, David, and Dan. He served his country during the Korean War from September 1, 1950, until his honorable discharge on August 4, 1952. Bob worked his entire career in the fertilizer business. He spent 25 years as Plant Manager at Darr Fertilizer for Louis Kash, Co-op, and after retirement found his niche as a Greeter at Walmart. He loved people and this position fit his personality perfectly. Bob was a member of the Berean Bible Church where he served as the longest tenured board member, as well as the church greeter for many years. He was also a member of the VFW. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He never missed a Nebraska Cornhuskers game!! He enjoyed being with family, visiting with neighbors, He never met a stranger, and could talk your leg off!! Bob was one-of-kind, and will be so very missed. Survivors include his children; Barbara Perkins of Kearney, Nebraska, Dan and wife Becky Weller of North Platte, Nebraska, and David and wife Reonn Weller of Arizona; twelve grandchildren, Angee Perkins of Bellevue, Nebraska, Bill and wife Heather Perkins of Kearney, Nebraska, Abigail and husband Kwan Sadler of Little Elm, Texas, Courtney Weller of North Platte, Nebraska, Katelyn Weller of Orlando, Florida, Raven Gillett of Grand Island, Nebraska, Ben Weller of Sutherland, Nebraska, Shane Weller of North Platte, Nebraska, Jessica Weller, Sandra Weller, Colton Weller, and Alex Weller, all of North Platte, Nebraska; five great-grandchildren, Natalee Diaz, Blake Diaz, Robert Perkins, Jonis Perkins-Parker, and Kaden Sadler; as well as extended family and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharon; four brothers, and one sister. Funeral Services will be Saturday, September 24, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Pastor Matt Doubet officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, September 23, 2016, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to the Berean Bible Church, Maranantha Bible Camp, or Lexington Fire Dept. It was Bob’s wishes for cremation following his funeral service. Inurnment will be held at a later date with military honors in the Evergeen Cemetery. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
