Edna Grayce Wiley, 99, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016, at Plum Creek Healthcare Community. She was born June 19, 1916, in Sumner, Nebraska to Jim and Carrie (Simpson) McGinnis. She was a graduate of Sumner High School. Grayce was united in marriage to John Wiley on January 3, 1935, in Lexington. Three children were blessed to this marriage; Dwayne, Joan, and Jerry. Grayce was a wonderful seamstress. She did alterations for Weaver’s Cleaners, and even after retiring still accepted work for them. She sewed many of the children’s clothes, way back to the day of feed sacks. She loved to entertain. Playing cards was her passion, especially Bridge. She belonged to several Bridge groups around town. She enjoyed a game of Pitch, and Pinochle also. Other hobbies included; cooking, crocheting, and gardening. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and enjoyed visits from family and friends. She was a member of First United Methodist Church for many years, the Elk’s Club in Cozad, and Cosmos. Survivors include one son; Jerry (Patricia) Wiley of Youngsville, Louisiana; four grandchildren; Karen (Larry) Wenzlick of Keystone, South Dakota, Christine (Dave) Luong of Seward, Nebraska, Colleen (Mike) Ladwig of Lexington, Nebraska, and Kenneth (Surie) Reed ofOgallala, Nebraska; several great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Grayce was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; daughter, Joan Reed; son, Dwayne; brother, Howard McGinnis; grandson, Kevin; and, great-grandson, Joshua. It was Grayce’s wishes for cremation. There will be no visitation. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be Thursday, May 26, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Lexington with Reverend Dyton Owen officiating. Inurnment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington. Memorials are suggested to Lexington Volunteer Fire Department.
