Neva Gail Gerard, 78, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Plum Creek Healthcare Community. She was born February 10, 1938, in Nemaha, Nebraska, to Floyd and Martha (Smith) Wallace. Neva lived in Sutton, Nebraska, where she worked as a Medication Aid at the nursing home. Neva was united in marriage to Richard Gerard on January 5, 1968, in Clay Center, Nebraska. The couple moved to Lexington in January of 1991, to work at the local IBP plant. Neva enjoyed camping and fishing. She loved gardening and flowers, gambling, putting together puzzles, bowling and traveling. Her greatest enjoyment came when being with her family, especially the grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her husband; Richard of Lexington, Nebraska; five sons, Nathan Larson of Johnson Lake, Nebraska, Darrell and his wife Ruth Larson of Hastings, Nebraska, John Larson of Hastings, Nebraska, Scott Larson of Hastings, Nebraska, and Richard Gerard, Jr. of Lexington, Nebraska; one daughter, Carmen and her husband Donald Freeland of Lexington, Nebraska; one brother, Earl and his wife Karen Wallace of Lincoln, Nebraska; seven grandchildren; Christopher, Selena, and Paisley Longoria, Eric, Donald, Jr. and Shelby Freeland, and Cassandra DeMoss; two great-grandchildren, Stanley and Mavis; as well as extended family and friends. Neva was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bill Larson; daughter, Linda Longoria; and, two sisters, Vivian Eirick and Betty Yakely. The family has honored Neva’s wishes for cremation. There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Friday, May 20, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Pastor Rob Kuefner officiating. Inurnment will be held later at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
