Margaret Marie Garcia, 89, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012, at Plum Creek Care Center in Lexington. Margaret was born January 13, 1923, in Eustis, Nebraska to Fulton W. and Frieda V. (Hess) Brown. She moved to Lexington when she was 3 years old and attended school in Lexington. She was united in marriage to Alphonso Garcia on July 15, 1940, in Lexington. In 1956, the couple moved to California where they lived for over 25 years until returning to Lexington in 1985. She attended the First Christian Church, where she was active and loved teaching Sunday school. She later enjoyed Pastor Glenn Johnson’s visits from the Berean Bible Church while living at Plum Creek Care Center. Margaret enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, gardening, and bird watching. When Margaret was younger she loved doing ceramics and was always active in the PTA while her children were in school in Lexington. Survivors include three daughters; Patty Ann Gonzalez of Battleground, WA; Priscilla Marie Tellez of Monrovia, CA; Sandra Kay (Kenneth) Taylor of Los Lunas, NM; one son, David Alphonso (Toni) Garcia of Lancaster, CA; one brother, Robert (Ruth) Brown of North Platte, NE; two sisters, Elnore Ryckman of Mohave Valley, AZ; Evelyn Stelk of Grand Island, NE; special nephews, Mark (Mary Lou) Hueftle of Lexington, NE and Joe (Judy) Carranza of Kearney, NE; twelve grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and other family and friends. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alphonso Garcia in 1996; infant daughter, Mary Ann; and four brothers, Lloyd, Lawrance, Kenneth and Wayne Brown. Funeral Services will be Friday, October 26, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Pastor Glenn Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 25, 2012, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to the Lexington Public Library. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
