Lawrence Edward Loose, 83, of Johnson Lake, Nebraska, passed away Monday, November 19, 2007, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. He was born March 1, 1924, at Brush, Colorado to George P. and Pauline (Kaufman) Loose. Larry received his schooling at Brush and entered the United States Navy on March 26, 1943, until he was Honorably Discharged on February 10, 1946. He was united in marriage to Doris Marie Reynolds on January 5, 1947, at Oberlin, Kansas. The couple made their home in several towns before moving and settling in Lexington in the early 1950’s. Larry and Doris purchased the Conoco Station and called it L&R Conoco at Lexington. It was during this time that the couple raised their three children; Vic, LeAnn and Robin. Larry enjoyed goose and duck hunting as a younger man. He loved watching football, telling stories, pulling practical jokes and being with family. He enjoyed going to the Veteran’s Memorial Club where he visited with friends and told stories and reminisced about the War. He will be very missed by his family and friends. Survivors include one son: Vic and Nancy Loose of Lexington, Nebraska Two daughters: LeAnn and Don Easley of Jackson, Mississippi Robin Loose of Los Lunas, New Mexico One brother: Don Loose of Warren, Michigan Two sisters: Lillian (Harold) Urbach of Coppell, Texas Gladys (Richard) Knaus of Longmont, Colorado Seven grandchildren: Nathan (Stacey) Loose of Lincoln, Nebraska; Cale and Gage Loose of Lexington, Nebraska; Adrian (Shea) Walker of Lumberton, Mississippi; Dawn (Brian) Arnold of Canton, Mississippi; Dustin and Adam McCurley of Los Lunas, New Mexico. Six great-grandchildren: Holly, Corey, Tristen, Jordan, Kyra and Riley Larry was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Doris in 2001; and one brother, Riney. Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 26, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with Reverend Paul Colling, officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 25, 2007, from 2-5 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to the Elwood Rescue Unit or the Donor’s Choice. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
