Frank Lee Barta, 70, of North Platte, Nebraska, died Thursday, November 1, 2007, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.
He was born January 27, 1937, at Eddyville, Nebraska, to Mike George and Eva (Warner) Barta. Frank was born disabled, but loved to help around the farm doing chores, milking cows, hauling hay and picking corn.
He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith on June 26, 1955, at Callaway, Nebraska.
He lived for many years in McCook at Southwest Area Training Services and worked in the workshop. He moved to North Platte in 2000, where he lived and worked at the Developmental Center.
Frank loved being with his family, going to work, dancing and spending time with children.
Survivors include four brothers: Francis “Fritz” Barta of Oregon
Don, Harmon and Lloyd Barta all of Lexington, NE.
Four sisters: Edna Dewey of Lexington, Nebraska
Dorothy Linder of Cozad, Nebraska
Leora Esslinger of Greeley, Colorado
Mildred Stiner of Cozad, Nebraska
Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, George, Edward and Chester in infancy; one sister, Martha.
Services will be Monday, November 5, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with Pastor Michael Gruhn, officiating.
Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington.
Visitation will be held Sunday, November 4, 2007, from 2-4 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Donor’s Choice.
