Margaret Louise Wellmann

Margaret L. Wellmann, 84, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Friday, October 26, 2007, at Tri-County Hospital in Lexington. She was born January 29, 1923, at Plainview, Nebraska, to Fred and Millie (Flint) Schlote. Margaret moved to Oconto as a small child with her family to the Lomax area in Custer County. She was united in marriage to Edward N. Wellmann on April 30, 1942, at Oconto, Nebraska. This union was blessed with three children; Karon, Kenneth and Fredrick Keith, who died as an infant. In 1949, Edward and Margaret moved their family to Lexington, but returned to Oconto in 1956. They then returned to Lexington in 1963, where Margaret has made her home ever since. Margaret worked as a Bookkeeper for JM McDonald’s Clothing Store and then owned and operated the This-n-That Ceramic Shop for many years in Lexington. She enjoyed making dolls, camping and fishing. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington. Survivors include one son: Kenneth (Marie) Wellmann of Lexington, Nebraska One daughter: Karon (Richard) Walter of Oconto, Nebraska One sister: Edith Wellman of Oconto, Nebraska Five grandchildren: Brian and wife Ramona Wellmann of Gothenburg, Nebraska; Brent Wellmann of Lexington, Nebraska; Beth and husband Ryan Klootwyk of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota; Todd and wife Valerie Walter of Lincoln, Nebraska; Tracey and husband Todd Sutherland of Eddyville, Nebraska. Nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward N. in 2004; son, Fredrick Keith; great-grandson, Ethan and infant siblings. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, October 29, 2007, 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington with Reverend Paul Colling officiating. Burial will at Rose Hill Cemetery in Callaway, Nebraska. Rosary will be recited Sunday, October 28, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
